OVERVIEW

High School Journalism is an edu-blog designed for students taking Journalism and Print Media, which is an Elective English IV subject. It is designed to familiarize students with the history of journalism, journalistic writings, such as news, sports, features, and editorials, and other phases of newspaper works, such as interviewing, copy reading, headlining, cartooning, layouting, proofreading, and photojournalism, and to help them acquire and develop skills necessary for joining the school newspaper and for contributing to a community newspaper.

Now that we have discussed Units I, II, and III, i. e. Developing Grammar and Composition Skills, A History of Print Journalism in the Philippines, and The School Paper, let us move on to the next unit, which is the 15 Rules on Clear and Effective Journalistic Writing. For ease, your online teachers have arranged this edu-blog into categories.

Start with the first category, RULES, which basically contains the 15 Rules on Clear and Effective Journalistic Writing. Feel free to write your comments or opinions on each rule set in this module. Then proceed to WRITING ACTIVITY category which will serve as your initial writing exercise. And finally click on the UNIT TEST category which will examine how much you have learned in this course. Remember to carefully read and follow the instructions provided.

The course begins on 12 October and ends on 23 October 2009. Interested students can now register in this course. If you have questions or other concerns, you may drop a line to any of your online teachers. Have fun learning!
